The Aglaura Public Library is your library. The reason we exist is for you. This is your house - come home. Come read with us, learn with us, teach us, play with us, listen to us, talk to us, and be with us. Most of all, come have fun with us.

My dear neighbors, friends, and compatriots,

So very much has happened since I was appointed head librarian! I have been working hard towards my goal of making the Aglaura Public Library your community hub.

First of all, I am happy to announce that our Summer Reading Program is going great guns! Even if you did not come in at the beginning, it is still not too late to join. Simply come down to the Library and stop at the information desk for an introductory worksheet with reading suggestions. Every Friday afternoon at 5:30 PM we will have an informal get-together to mingle and talk about some of the great works we're reading. There is nothing better than getting together and hearing real opinions from real people about the books they have read. That beats stuffy old reviews any day. This has proved to be wildly popular so far, and I'm considering extending this to be year-long!

We are also happy to announce the new officers for the Pine Barren Poets Book Club! Congratulations to Barbara Hayes and Sam Kwan, who will be spearheading our Book Club for the next two years. I can say without hesitation that both of these upstanding citizens will bring a wonderful yin and yang, full of excitement and vibrancy, to the Book Club. If you are at all interested, I highly recommend that you attend the next meeting. The Book Club meets at various members' houses on fourth Tuesdays at 12:30 PM. The information desk has details on locations.

Over the next several months I hope to get even more community programs running. Please watch this space for details.

Much love,
Sarah Wyatt
