INTERNET USE GUIDELINES
Please take a number card at the circulation desk. You must enter on the
card the time that you begin using the computer. Please place the card on
the top of the computer monitor. By using this computer you are agreeing
to abide by the Library's Internet Access Policy and Internet Use Guidelines
which are available at the circulation desk.
Computer time will be assigned in thirty minute slots. All printing and
downloading must be finished within that time period. Patrons may sign
up for two thirty minute time slots per day for a maximum of one hour
of computer time. After that time is used, patrons are welcome to use
a computer if one is available and no one else is signed up. The Library
reserves the right to adjust length of time to accommodate more users,
or to terminate a session that becomes disruptive.
Users under the age of 18 must have a signed Youth Access registration
form on file or be supervised by an adult.
Users are prohibited from downloading files to a Library computer's hard
drive. Files may be downloaded to a floppy disk purchased from the Library.
(Anti-virus software should be used to check any downloaded files.) The
Library staff can hold this disk for you until your next session. Once a disk leaves
the Library it cannot be used in the Library's computers again.
Patrons are prohibited from using programs or files from their own disks
or CDs in the Library's computer.
Modifying or attempting to damage computer equipment or software is vandalism
to Library property and may result in revocation of computer or Library
privileges or legal action.
Responsibility for compliance with licensing and copyright laws lies
with the user.
The Library will not provide or support email services for patrons, but
will not restrict access to free online email providers. Patrons are asked
to take the time to familiarize themselves with the operation of the email
program they choose to use.
The charge for printing is 20 cents per page. Payment is expected as
soon as the user ends his computer session.
The Library reserves the right to terminate an Internet session if it violates the Library's Code of Conduct.
