Demon's Alley
Demons Alley is probably one of the most evocative abandoned towns in New Jersey, and apparently attracts a lot of tourists and ghost-hunter types. I went there with some high school friends who had heard of my hobby. Demons Alley is the name of 8 boarded up houses. The boards on the windows were painted black, and a white shade is painted over it. Rumor has it that the town is somehow associated with a satanic cult. I wasn't able to investigate for myself, however, because Demons Alley is on private property (with very large, very clear "NO TRESPASSING" signs). I doubt that Demons Alley is really abandoned, since the owners apparently patrol the edges of the property regularly. I've looked into getting permission from them , but I had a hell of a time finding the landlord's name. Someday I'll try again when I'm headed back that way.
