Giovanni Greco sent himself to an early grave, literally.
Mr. Greco, 63, was so obsessed with perfecting his future mausoleum, he visited it often to ensure the contractors were constructing it exactly to his specifications.
But his latest visit was to be his last.
As reported by the local media, Mr. Greco was making a regular jaunt to the site of his future tomb in the small cemetery in his hometown of Lascari. He scaled a ladder to get a better view of the top of the mausoleum, slipped and hit his head on a marble step, and fell to his death into his own tomb.
